Lehigh Acres, FL technical rescue - 8/27/09 : LAFD Engine & Rescue 101 "C" shift and Battalion 100, Chief Christensen, were dispatched to 1510 Prospect Avenue at approximately 1000 hours on 8/27/09 for a person possibly trapped under a vehicle. Upon arrival, Engine 101 Lieutenant Pitter notified Lee Control they had a male victim trapped under the front axle of a pickup truck and to send Engine 102 for manpower. The crew went to work cribbing the truck and placing air bags under the vehicle. Once the cribbing and air bags were in place, firefighter Gonzalez began to add air to the bags while the rest of the crew monitored the patient and vehicle's stability. Within a minute they had the truck lifted enough to remove the patient and treatment was initiated. After being checked out by paramedics, the patient refused further treatment & transport.
